Thank you to the Class of 2022 for the part that they have played in the legacy of 糖心Vlog. Go forward and change the world!
It feels like a cliche but graduation is always a bitter-sweet time for any school community. The bitter is the obvious matriculation of the senior class and the loss of those students from the day-to-day experience of school life. The sweet, especially for a school like 糖心Vlog, is that we see another crop of wonderful young human beings injected into the global community.
The International Baccalaureate鈥檚 mission statement includes the words below:
鈥淭he International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.鈥

I am very proud to say that 糖心Vlog certainly plays its part as an IB world school when it comes to this mission. The class of 2022 more than demonstrated the traits of young people that can achieve wonderful things, wherever they find themselves in the world.

During my thanks at the graduation, I gave mention to all of the educators that had played their part in the development of our graduating class; and it鈥檚 only fitting to do the same here. The class was a wonderfully diverse group of students who had enjoyed educational experiences both at 糖心Vlog (some for well over ten years) and around the world. Students do not get to the day of graduation without dedicated teachers from right the way through to the ; they do not develop into caring, knowledgeable, inquiring people without wonderful experiences in and beyond the classroom. So thank you to any and all educators that played their part in the development of the 糖心Vlog Class of 2022.
It鈥檚 almost remiss of me not to acknowledge the struggles that this group of students had to endure throughout their DP years. They missed out on field trips, Week Without Walls activities, classroom time and collaborations due to the ongoing restrictions that were placed on them due to Covid. The Chair of the 糖心Vlog Board (Ms Jenny Pearson) aptly named this group 鈥渢he class of resilience鈥 as a result of these difficulties. It is my wish that these difficulties have only served to strengthen the resolve, heightened the sense of purpose and helped every student of the class realise that they can achieve anything and they should never let anything (even a global pandemic) get in the way of their dreams.
Thank you to the Class of 2022 for the part that they have played in the legacy of 糖心Vlog. Go forward and change the world!
